Minister of State for Exterior Affairs V Muraleedharan on Wednesday stated efforts are being made to prepare extra flights, as according to requirement, for bringing again Indians from Ukraine in view of the escalating political tensions there.
Muraleedharan, talking to newshounds at Kottayam, stated the central govt was once chargeable for making sure protection and welfare of just about 20,000 Indians, majority of them scholars, right now in Ukraine and in opposition to that function the Exterior Affairs Ministry was once operating with the Civil Aviation Ministry to prepare extra flights for the ones wishing to come back again.
He stated efforts are being made to prepare extra flights in view of the placement that many Indians there do not need the needful approach to go back and added that nobody was once being pressured to come back again right now. In the meantime, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Ok Sudhakaran shot off a letter on Wednesday to Exterior Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for making sure extra flights out of Ukraine for Indians.
The Congress MP, in his letter, stated he was once receiving a number of lawsuits that there was once an acute shortage of flights out of that nation and because of this, air fare fees have soared. This has made it tough for Indian scholars, wishing to go back, to buy air tickets, he stated.
“I’d respect it if you want to kindly glance into the subject and make sure extra flights are made to be had at a capped airfare in order that our electorate are in a position to go back to protection,” Sudhakaran stated in his letter.
